The Immigrant institute is a non-governmental organization whose aim is to be a research and documentation centre about immigrants, refugees and racism, with an archive, and a library.
The library comprises several collections: books and documents on migration, a collection of writings by immigrant authors, a collection of journals and magazines and clips från principal periodicals 1974-2011.
The library is now lacated at Statens biblioteksdepå in Bålsta, outside Stockholm.
The archive contents letters, acta, documents, pictures, clips on immigrant cultural workers, organisations etc.
The archive is deposited at the Riksarkivet in Arninge, Stockholm.
Members of the institute are individuals and associations.
